Instructions
1 pound ground beef or venison
2 medium onions, diced
1 medium cabbage, coarsely shredded or chopped
2 medium carrots, sliced
11/4 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup regular long-grain rice
14 ounces beef broth
1/2 cup water
In a soup pot or Dutch oven, brown meat and onions until pan juices evaporate and meat is well browned. Remove from heat and add cabbage, carrots, salt and pepper and mix well. Pour rice into a 3-quart casserole dish; spoon meat mixture over top. Pour beef broth and water over mixture. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1½ hours. Stir mixture well before serving.
