Ingredients
| 1 | medium head cabbage |
| salted water, to cover | |
| 1/2 Cup | rice |
| 1/2 Pound | lean ground pork |
| 1/2 Pound | lean ground beef |
| 1 | medium onion, chopped |
| 1 | egg |
| 1 1/2 Teaspoon | salt |
| 1/4 Teaspoon | black pepper |
| Dash of ground allspice | |
| 1 1/4 Cup | milk |
| butter |
Instructions
Cut off imperfect leaves of cabbage, remove core and cut remainder into medium-sized pieces. Cover with salted water and cook 10 minutes. Drain and set aside. Cook rice according to package directions. Drain and rinse in cold water. Mix rice with meat, onion, egg and seasonings. Butter a large casserole dish. Place a layer of cabbage then a layer of the meat mixture alternately until dish is filled, ending with a meat layer. Pour the milk over top and dot with butter. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
